Sales Order Stock Allocation Method

Advanced: Assigns stock to a specific sales order, reserving it exclusively for that order.

Easy: Stock is not reserved, allowing flexibility for sales orders to use available stock without reserving it.

Use this if you don’t want sales orders to lock stock (e.g., to keep stock available for other orders).

Auto Allocation Mode

Controls how stock is automatically allocated to sales orders:

Manual: Stock allocation is done manually, giving you full control over which items are allocated.

Enough Stock:

Allocates stock only to sales orders where the entire order can be filled.

If the full order cannot be filled, no allocation occurs.

Previously allocated stock is not overridden unless you use Reset All Allocations.

Set the default behavior in Sales Order Options > Allocation Tab.

Oldest First:

Prioritizes allocation to the oldest sales orders first.

Considers quantities in the On Order Allocated column:

Example: If an order’s Quantity Left To Invoice is 30 and On Order Allocated is 10, the system allocates 20 (20 + 10 = 30).

To override this, use Reset All Allocations or the Set 0 button on the form to reset individual items.

Use Reset All Allocations to clear all allocated quantities across orders or Set 0 for specific items.

Allocation Location

Determines the source of stock for allocation:

Global: Considers stock from all warehouses for allocation.

Warehouse: Limits allocation to stock from a specific warehouse, as selected in the Sales Order > Extra Tab.

Other Options

Perform Auto Allocation on Invoice Process:

Enable this to automatically allocate stock during the invoicing process.

Auto Fill Allocated If Have Unallocated Stock: .

If you change the sales order quantity in the sales order afterwards then the Quantity Allocated to Invoice Now will only change automatically if this option is enabled in Sales Order Options > Allocation tab.

On Order Allocation

When enabled, allows allocation of on-order quantities (stock not yet received but expected) to sales orders.

Displays the On Order Available To Allocate column in the sales order form.

On Order Allocation Location

Global: Considers on-order stock from any warehouse..

Warehouse: Limits on-order stock allocation to a specific warehouse.

Allocation After GRN

On GRN Process:

If enabled, automatically allocates stock to the oldest sales orders globally when a Goods Received Note (GRN) is processed.

Creates Warehouse Transfer Orders to move stock to the allocated warehouses.
